About

Carolyn M. Sullivan Kropp (known to family, friends and colleagues by her childhood nickname "Cara") was born and raised in New Jersey.

Upon graduating from law school in 2009, Cara began a full time position in the Union County Counsel's Office practicing mainly in public entity procurement, local public contracts law and in reviewing resolutions for Board meetings. She was offered the opportunity by her now former partner & mentor to dabble in general practice areas through his small private practice in Cranford. Cara learned municipal prosecution, basic estate planning, adoption, name changes, expungements and collection work. But the real focus of private practice came when family & friends started to come of age to need an attorney for home closings. It appealed to her immediately and has ever since.

For more than 10 years, Cara has worked in the New Jersey residential real estate markets, representing both Buyers and Sellers. Starting with clients primarily in Union County, she has expanded to all parts of our beautiful state including the Jersey Shore, rural parts and beyond. She is attuned to the market shifts and realities.

Cara has adopted an 'out of the box' mentality to representing clients. The process is short term (compared to other areas of law) and can be both emotional and overwhelming. Home buying can be a major financial undertaking and due care is required to shepard through the closing process with success. Cara both enjoys and takes her clients' needs to heart. She is compulsively online to facilitate her clients needs. It truly is an area Cara has both become confident and comfortable in.

Outside of work, Cara is the COO of her family. Cara and her husband, Kevin, have 2 elementary aged daughters, Kylie and Caylin. They completed their family in 2021 by rescuing a lab mix, Bailey. She jokes that their dog is the "best girl in the house." While Cara is an only child, she grew up in a large family. Her parents are active in her life and totally supportive to help make personal and professional goals come true. Cara was lucky to inherit another large beautiful family upon marriage. Family is everything.

Cara loves being near the beach, enjoys reading romance novels, yoga and the Peloton, hosting friends & family for celebrations and volunteering for her girls extracurriculars.

Cara is a graduate of Roselle Catholic High School (2000), Seton Hall University (2004 with a major in Political Science and minors in Communication and Criminal Justice) and New York Law School (2009 - Evening Section). She still maintains a part time position with Union County.
